We Are Home!

Wow, that was a loooooooooong ride! We got home just before dinner last night, enjoyed our lasagna and went to bed! Things I’ve noticed:

*He was totally freaking out at the mall. We stopped on the way back to replace his hideous glasses at a make-them-in-one-hour glasses place, so while we were waiting we stopped at the food court and shopped a little bit. While in the food court, he was totally freaking out at the largeness of the area, and had a huge problem with sitting there in the middle of the room where anybody could be behind him.

*He had no patience and had to keep moving. Trying to shop for clothes was hilarious!

*Once we got home he needed to keep moving from room to room.

*He’s a LOT neater than he used to be. He was PISSED OFF at how messy the bathroom was (his brother’s bathroom, which I avoid at all costs!)

Other than that, we are sitting here waiting for parole to show up. He’s on lockdown here at the house until they come, which we have no idea when that will be.

Oh, and the party’s tomorrow! All the cousins and aunties and uncles are coming over.

  1. Wow……I hope it all works out! How long was he gone? I have to go back and read thru your whole blog. Praying for you all. I hope the party gives him strength in knowing the whole family is behind him. I got a call from my son this morning – in jail. Addiction does stink!!

  2. Wishing you a blessed homecoming. I am so glad it finally happened. Hopefully he will continue to put one foot in front of the other in the right direction!

  3. Happy Homecoming!!! Your family is all together again.

Getting out of prison is a huge adjustment. I remember last time Anthony was in for 10 months he didn’t want to go out in public for awhile because it was too much to take in all at once, and he too was nervous if anyone was behind him. J will adjust, but it may take a little while 🙂

I hope the party goes well and fun is had by all.

  4. I hope J’s homecoming is the first day of the rest of his life…and yours.
