Jane Jane Jane

Please pray for my friend Jane. I’ve known for a while that she’s been struggling with alcoholism, but I had no idea how bad it was. I went and visited Jane yesterday. She weighs about 90 pounds, can barely walk by herself, has a black eye (doesn’t know how it happened), is pale and sick looking. Thursday she got arrested for DUI while going to the liquor store to buy more booze. The clerk in the store refused to sell it to her and then called the police, who arrested her. Last night she got arrested again. She is minutes away from a jail sentence or death. And is REFUSING to go to rehab. Jane is so deep in denial its not even funny. Please pray for God to show Jane the way to sobriety.

The funny thing is, Jane is a regular person like you or I. She’s a single mom (who no longer has custody of her son!), with a really good job. She is a homeowner of a beautiful home in a wonderful neighborhood. There is nothing about Jane that screams “addict” like all of the stereotypes suggest. Jane is a perfect example of how this crazy disease can just sneak up on you and take your life. Evil! Evil! Evil!

  1. I am sorry to hear about Jane. Does she have any family who could talk to her? She would need to go to detox because with alcoholism she could easily go into seizures and die. The disease takes too many. But some would rather go so far down that they are beyond help, rather than give up the bottle. I hope that she will decide to get help before it is too late.

  2. I will pray for Jane. I understand perfectly how a ordinary looking life on the outside can hide an extraordinary life on the inside and not always in a good way.

  3. Sorry to hear about Jane, but glad she has a friend that cares about her. I hope she chooses to get help.
